The Industry4.0 summit 2017 held in Manchester is an event focused on the future of manufacturing.
The hot buzzwords for this event were Industry 4.0, the 4th industrial revolution, smart manufacturing, digital factories…all used to describe a series of game-changing innovations that are changing the way products are manufactured. The event aimed to gather and present knowledge to thousands of manufacturers helping them to remain competitive, improve productivity and shorten product development cycles.
Industry 4.0 Summit was a large UK gathering of solution providers, innovators and technology buyers looking to get ready for this step-change in global manufacturing. It was the perfect place for Visual Factories to both have a booth, and give a keynote speech about Industry 4.0.
Matti Tiano, CEO of Visual Factories, discussed how Industry 4.0 is actually creating the connection between People, Data and Resources which are the three core elements of any factory. He also presented Visual Factories’ PIM solution (Production Improvement Management system). Matti showed how PIM can be used by factories to become significantly more efficient, helping them to optimize the machine utilization rate while monitoring and controlling the cost per part and measuring the gross profit improvements. He also presented the PIM’s ability to connect with any machine using any protocol and even with machines that are not controlled by a PLC.
“I could not ask for a better audience,” says Matti. “These professionals are keen to be ready for the future of production and are eager to hear about new technologies. I enjoyed the session tremendously. “
