DNC, Direct Numeric Control – data capturing, data collection and data acquisition infrastructure for CNC machines

Nowadays the usage of DNC, Direct Numerical Control, also known as Distributed Numerical Control (also DNC), expended its preliminary file transfer purpose to CNC machines data capturing, data collection and data acquisition. DNC networking or DNC communication infrastructure is also used today as the communication infrastructure for data capturing, data collection or data acquisition.
Using the same transfer method for data files, data capturing, data collection and data acquisition is possible by capturing, collecting and acquiring the data from the factory CNC machines and transmitting it to an external database server.

The captured data is then used for further analysis, monitoring and control of the CNC machine performance across the whole factory. The analysis, monitoring and control, enables manufacturers to optimize and improve their manufacturing processes. Nowadays, the manufacturer of the control supports the purpose of data capturing, data collection and data acquisition. The control manufacturer provides access to the required data on the CNC machine itself.
This data is then easily captured, collected or acquired and transmitted into the factory main server for further analysis, monitoring and control of its CNC machines optimizing and improving its performance. In recent years, software companies have started to provide data capturing, data collection and data acquisition applications to fulfill these purposes.
